From first site visit to contractor handover in Porto
Site measure inside historic fabric
Every commission begins with a half-day visit. We record ceiling heights, beam locations, existing MEP routes, and window orientations with laser measure and hand sketches — CAD comes later once proportions feel right on paper.
In UNESCO-buffer properties we photograph adjacent façade rhythms so interior choices respect street-level continuity along Rua das Flores and the Ribeira embankment.
Concept sketches on the chalkboard wall
Back at the studio we draft two or three layout options on a full-height chalkboard before opening software. Clients visit for a walk-through of each scenario, moving cut-out furniture pieces across the board to test gut reactions.
This stage typically takes one week and costs €320 as a standalone feasibility study, credited toward any full package if you proceed.
Developed drawings and finish boards
Once a direction is chosen, we produce scaled plans, reflected ceiling layouts, and a materials board with actual samples — tile chips, wood stains, fabric swatches. Joinery details go to our Gondomar cooperative for budget quotes.
Two rounds of client comments are included; further changes are billed at €85 per hour.
Lighting mock-ups before final specification
Tomás sets temporary fixtures in the empty room or our studio mock-up so clients experience brightness levels, not just lumens on a datasheet. Pendant heights get adjusted in person rather than guessed from renders.
Dimming scenes are labelled on the switch plate schedule so electricians install the correct circuit grouping on the first pass.
Handover walkthrough with your contractor
We meet on site with your builder for a two-hour review, answering questions on edge conditions, tile layout starting points, and banquette anchoring into granite walls. A written snag list follows within three working days.
